I know the question that’s top of mind for all my fellow bookworms this time of year is: how am I doing with my TBR list? Well, the good news is, whether you are absolutely crushing it or not quite hitting the lofty mark that your ambitious self set back in January, the holidays are coming. And with them comes all the cozy vibes that make reading such a JOY rather than a checklist item. If you are looking for the coziest of reads this season, check out the list below!
While I grew up watching the 1985 Anne of Green Gables film series (which, btw has a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes if you’re in the market for a cozy watch as well), I had never read the book. Scratch that, books. Who knew there were EIGHT? I am currently on book four and stupidly smiling and laughing my way through this heartwarming series. Anne is a delightful and quirky heroine who you can’t help but to love. I would highly recommend adding this cozy classic read to your TBR list, even if you only stick around for the first book.
After I read the Thursday Murder Club series, I was itching for more of Richard Osman’s wit and storytelling, and he delivered with We Solve Murders, which was published last September. The cozy murder mystery vibes are on full display in this one, and it is a great one to listen to on audio as well, especially if you have a lot of driving this holiday season.
The Emily Wilde trilogy brings a scholarly approach to the highly popular fae fantasy world. Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Faeries is the first of the trilogy and introduces you to the brave, kind, and eccentric character that is Emily Wilde. Joining her on her journey throughout this book is sure to be a warm and cozy highlight of your holiday season.
This is one of those books that caught me happily by surprise and swept me away. It is a beautiful story woven between the past and present. When I wasn’t reading it, I would find myself thinking about it constantly and wondering what was going to happen. The Echo Of Old Books is an easy one to add to your TBR list this season; it pairs perfectly with a large cup of tea beside a flickering fire.
From the prologue of this book, I was immediately hooked. The author introduces you to the most endearing cast of characters under the oddest of circumstances. In a setting that should be dire and disastrous, you are somehow left…laughing? If you’re looking for something lighthearted to add to your TBR list that will keep you turning the pages, this is your book.
Disclaimer: The series is not yet finished as there is at least 1 (or maybe 2) more book(s) still left to be written. So if you get carried away with the series and are left hanging, don’t say I didn’t warn you.
What could be better than a story about a 90-year-old man looking for love? Eddie Winston is an ideal protagonist – kind, thoughtful, patient, and a true gentleman. If you’re a fly on the wall during his journey to find true love, you will not be disappointed. Add this cozy fiction book to your list and thank me later!
This book is another cozy feel-good read. When Vera Wong discovers a dead man in her tea shop, that is when her new life begins. Yet another cast of endearing characters fills the pages of this story, with Vera Wong as the unquestionable matriarch. Oh, and if you listen to the audio version, you’ll find that the narrator’s “Vera voice” is true perfection.
Set in 1950, this is a sweet historical fiction about a young boy who wants to know if Narnia is real, and if so, where did it come from? Good thing his big sister is a student at Oxford University, where the author of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, C.S. Lewis, is a professor. Join these siblings on the journey to discover something even deeper than what they thought they were looking for, and let this heartwarming book light up your holiday TBR list.
This is another masterpiece of a story that is inspired by fairytales such as The Little Mermaid and Cinderella. However, it truly stands on its own as an enchanting original story that will leave you asking for more. I got lost in the magic of Upon A Starlit Tide, and I hope you will too!
Who doesn’t love Nate Bargatze? A family friendly comedian and genuinely funny person, Nate Bargatze has a talent for humor and storytelling that is simply magnetic. His memoir is no exception. Obviously, because it’s Nate Bargatze, if you can listen to the audio version, then definitely do that. This is a great read or listen that will bring you plenty of light and laughs for the holiday season.
As always, drop a comment to let me know if any of these books make it onto your holiday TBR list. I’d love to hear what you think. Happy reading!

Zayna is a booktrovert who claims that if it weren’t for reading, she wouldn’t have any hobbies. She lives in NC with her supportive husband, their two energetic toddler boys, many houseplants, and one very patient dog. When she’s not buried in a novel, she’s probably chatting about it, recommending it, or planning her next great read.
