What is Lifestyled By Sofia?
Lifestyled By Sofia is the blog spinoff of my original hair and makeup business, Styled By Sofia, LLC. I’ve always been passionate about writing but never had the right platform to share lifestyle and travel-related topics. I created this blog in 2021 to house my content and share my journey as a business owner. Lifestyled By Sofia is more than just a passion project. My hope for this blog is that you come here for wisdom, encouragement, and to learn something new. Life is often in limbo and sometimes you need a little help navigating its twists and turns.
Are you still a hair and makeup artist?
Yes! My hair and makeup business (Styled By Sofia) is currently based out of Pensacola, FL where my husband and I are living. I have an amazing bridal hair and makeup team in Raleigh, NC that I often contract out for weddings. I am also part of the Brushed and Blushed hair and makeup team based out of Fairhope, AL. I am an on-location artist so you will often find me traveling to AL, NC, and beyond for weddings, photoshoots, and events.
Do you help other small businesses?
100%! I love working with other small business owners to help them find their footing in the world of digital marketing, photography, video editing, blogging, strategy, goal setting, SEO, and more. I am currently building a 1:1 consulting model for hair and makeup artists and other creative small business owners. Several businesses have already greatly benefited from 1:1 coaching with me and I can’t wait to expand my offerings in the near future. If you’re interested in working with me 1:1 you can send me an email!
How can I book Styled By Sofia hair and makeup services?

When did you start traveling?
Traveling has been a part of my life since before my memories begin! My passion for travel was solidified when I took my first overseas trip to Morocco at the age of eight. To this day that trip holds a special place in my heart. I’m convinced that I will never again visit a place quite like Morocco.
Why are you passionate about travel?
It all goes back to my parents. My dad immigrated to the US at the age of 18 and my mom left home to be a missionary in Hong Kong at the age of 22. At a young age, both of my parents left home, immersed themselves completely in a foreign culture and language, and never looked back. I was raised with a global mindset and I have always seen travel and experiences as priceless commodities. As kids, my sister and I never got the latest technology or toys for birthdays and holidays but my parents were extremely intentional about facilitating our exploration of the world.
Why do you move around a lot?
Parker is a mechanical engineer supporting the Air Force and his job has kept us on the move ever since we got married. We bought an investment property in New Bern, NC to be close to his job in 2020. Parker took a job transfer in April of 2022 which brought us to the Pensacola area. We turned our house in New Bern into a long-term rental and we are currently searching for an investment property in Pensacola. Luckily, despite the stress and craziness of constantly moving around, Parker and I have loved (almost) every minute of it. Read more here.
How many countries have you visited?
I have been to 18 countries and counting. Some of those countries I have gone back to time and time again. My favorite place to explore is Italy. During college I studied abroad in Piacenza for six weeks!
How many National Parks have you visited?
As a group, Parker and I, along with our close friends Patrick and Stephanie, have visited 10 national parks together.
Which National Parks have you visited?
We have visited every National Park in Utah (Zion, Bryce, Arches, Capitol Reef, Canyonlands), Colorado (Rocky Mountain, Great Sand Dunes, Mesa Verde, Black Canyon of the Gunnison), and South Carolina (Congaree).
When is your next National Park trip?
Our next National Park trip is tentatively scheduled for early fall of 2023.
Which National Parks are You Visiting Next?
We are hoping to visit Dry Tortugas, the Everglades, and Biscayne National Park in South Florida!
Where will you go on your next overseas trip?
Parker and I are hoping to take our delayed honeymoon trip to Greece in the Fall of 2023.
Do you work for anyone besides yourself?
I am partnering with my previous employers to start a new cold email marketing venture in 2023.
Where did you learn to cook?
My dad! I believe I inherited “the essence” of cooking from him. I loved to watch him create recipes and dream up new concoctions when I was growing up because he was always extremely creative in the kitchen. He showed me how to infuse Lebanese and Syrian cooking techniques and flavors into everyday dishes. I always learn something new about food and flavor pairings every time I travel overseas as well. As far as baking goes, I am completely self-taught (and still learning)!
Does Parker cook?
He has other talents 🙂
What kind of dog do you have?
Bernadette is a 2 year old miniature chocolate labradoodle. She is full grown at 25 lbs!
